Hey, Bride!

The process of getting hair extensions doesn't have to be stressful, in fact it’s more simple than you think. Hair extensions can elevate your bridal hair, help you feel more confident and establish longevity of your hairstyle.

Does every bridal hairstyle need extensions? No. But does adding in extensions let you have more free will with the hairstyle choice and overall create a more voluminous look? Yes! For example; Styles that incorporate braids need a lot of hair for the braid look it’s best.

Types of Hair Extensions

Clip-ins; There are many different types of extensions you can get for fuller more voluminous hair. The best route to take when wanting to add more hair to your bridal look are clip-ins. Clip-ins are exactly as they sound, clipped into the hair! These types of extensions are great for wearers who don’t necessarily want to add more hair to their head on an everyday basis. These are meant to be taken out at the end of the night, but can be worn multiple times. Great quality real human hair extensions can be heated up, curled, blow dried, washed and are made to last. This is my recommendation for anyone wanting to add more volume and hair to there bridal style.

Halos; Halo hair extensions come in a half-circle shape with a translucent cord to hide them. They are simple to apply by placing the cord around the crown of your head. The cord is translucent and hair is brush around it to hide it even further. This type of extension adds a great amount of hair and volume but can only be used for down styles.

More Permanent Options

Hand-tied, Glued or Taped in;

These type of extensions stay in the hair for a period of time, usually between 4-8 weeks. These type of extensions require more maintenance because you are esentailly taking care of more hair than you are used to. Although, hand-tied extensions are known to be the least of the options to maintain when dealing with other ways of installation. These types can create more hair damage than the less permanent options, but I would always recommend speaking with a professional about your options because we all have different hair.

So, Do I Really Need Hair Extensions?

Chances are the bridal styles you come across on Pinterest and Instagram have hair extensions. It’s best to chat with your bridal stylist to see if extra hair is necessary for your desired style. Some styles like Glam Waves, will always look and hold best with hair extensions. I usually always recommend adding them in to glam wave styles for maximum volume and hold.

How Do I Know What To Order?

During our initial phone consultation I can usually pin point if extensions are needed. I do give an option to order them before your hair preview so you can bring them with you. If you are unsure and would rather see your style first without them, that’s ok too! We can color match you right in studio. If you would like to order them before your preview, color matching is made simple with the company I love and trust!
